Serving Our Community and the Larger World
Mission is at the heart of Immanuel. We partner with area organizations such as New Journey Community Outreach Soup Kitchen, Family Promise, and Opportunity House to serve those experiencing poverty and homelessness. Teens and adults also serve beyond the local area, on mission trips to numerous U.S. states and Guatemala.
Immanuel is committed to building relationships with those of other faith traditions. Our friends at the Islamic Center of Reading helped us host the Jesus Fatwah, offering the community reliable information about the Muslim faith and its traditions, and together we have enjoyed ten years of a “Walk To The Bridge”, celebrating fellowship while distributing food and clothing to those in need.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Immanuel served as a hub of activity for collecting, preparing and distributing food to area students and families in need.
Opportunities abound for members and friends of all ages and abilities to utilize their skills and talents in service to others.
